Sexuality Is a Complicated Issue
Sexuality is a complicated issue. Because sex, like almost everything in life, is based on a neuro chemical cocktail that includes addictive neurotransmitters, we can always expect the full spectrum of expressions in our human sexuality. We condition ourselves to … Continue reading

I’ll Have What She’s Having: How Mirror Neurons and Music Increase Pleasure
I went to see Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal the other night in Oakland California. The setting was beautiful and the crowd was thrilled with the music and the vibes. Late in the program, as they sang a lusty, bluesy song together Taj began to wave his hands in the air and he encouraged us all to do it with him. Everyone began waving their hands and arms in the air and we all fell into a side-to-side sweeping, wave of ecstatic dancing! We were like one big sea anemone, an organism, waving in a sea of music and bodies and bliss. Continue reading

The Curious Association Of The G-Spot And The Upper Palate
I discovered this dual connection between the mouth and the yoni quite a few years back and have never heard anyone else refer to it before. I love oral sex and had wondered why that might be so. Yes, I love to eat, so that is a part of it — OK, I’m oral! I have also noticed that during oral sex it’s the slow out-stroke that always gets me. It’s the same with intercourse. Continue reading

The New Purpose of Sex: Unplug Into the ‘Now’
Ok, let’s keep that intense, new love stuff, the dopamine high. Then, if two people decide that they are very much in love and want to move to the next steps of relationship the ‘cuddle’ affect takes over. And though sex may slow down the bond between the lovers gets tighter. Then a few years go by, there are babies and careers and a mortgage and responsibilities galore. Time seems to have disappeared and stress can seem to take center stage. What does love look like now?… Continue reading

Pleasure Fibers & Touch: Pleasuring Me Pleasures You
I love to swim. I love the water running past every inch of my skin, tickling the hair follicles as it passes over my alert and ready nerve endings. I dive into the pool outside my living room French doors and push off repeatedly to the surface from the bottom of the deep end. I experience the thrill it gives me as I push up from the bottom and break the surface. I focus my mind on the sensations the water makes streaming past every hair follicle on my body, over and over again. I am training my mind/body to more fully love the sensations I already know and love… Continue reading

Ritual and Ceremony: Innate Longing for a Revival of Tribal Intimacy
We go to places where we will find our ‘tribe’ because we want to be surrounded by the same values, actions and activities that stimulate us. This is a process of activation of mirror neurons. Mirror neurons help us to assimilate with the others of our family, culture, society and tribe. The same areas of our brain that fire when we see someone else doing an action, fire when we do the action ourselves. This is part of what makes us social human beings… Continue reading
